J. R. Cole Industries, Inc., Makes Cutting Edge Packaging Seminars Available

J. R. Cole Industries, Inc., Makes Cutting Edge Packaging Seminars AvailableJ. R. Cole Industries, Inc., conducts a packaging seminar as a service to our customers and others who are looking for an in-depth look at the art and technology of producing high quality packaging. Presented twice each year, April and October, the seminar is an educational experience that you will not want to miss.

The primary objective of the seminar is to provide information that will enable you to communicate effectively within your own company, and to help you define your particular packaging requirements to suppliers. There are two full days of classroom instruction and plant tours, plus plenty of time allocated to questions and answers. During this time you will learn:

  •  The various options available to you for the development of carton and label graphics and constructions that provide durable and cost effective packaging. The goal is to achieve packaging that has optimal impact in the marketplace.

  • The time and scheduling considerations, and the costs involved, as various steps of the production are taken.
The Curriculum
The seminar provides a detailed overview of the production process including prepress, electronic artwork, pre-flighting of artwork, film preparation, proofing, and plate making. Additionally, you will learn the advantages and disadvantages of a wide range of printing methods including lithography, flexography, UV flexography, letterpress, rotary screen, combination printing and rotogravure.

J. R. Cole Industries, Inc., has three operating units – Prepress, Folding Cartons and Labels. Each is covered in detail. A full day is devoted to label production to include prepress, pressure sensitive materials, foil stamping, high gloss coatings, laminations, container decoration methods, adhesives & liners, all followed by plant tours of our two label plants. The second day covers all aspects of folding cartons to include paperboard, carton constructions, printing, coatings, die cutting, embossing, foil stamping, folding and gluing, the automatic application of labels to a carton during the gluing operation, and a plant tour of our carton facility. J. R. Cole managers with many years of experience in the packaging industry serve as the instructors.

Location -The seminar is held in Charlotte, North Carolina, in a hotel near the J. R. Cole headquarters and within a 15 minute drive from Charlotte’s Douglas International Airport. The hotel meeting site is also the location where the attendees will be staying for their two nights in Charlotte.

Expenses - Your expenses include transportation to and from Charlotte and two nights hotel accommodations. The host hotel provides a better than corporate rate. J. R. Cole Industries will provide all of your meals and there is no charge for the two days of instruction.

Accommodations – Once we know you will be attending, reservations will be made for you so that you have only to check in upon arrival.

Dress – Business casual is certainly in order for both days of classroom instruction and plant tours. You may want to wear comfortable shoes for the plant tours, and a light sweater or jacket may be useful to have. There is an informal reception the evening of your arrival, after which small groups go out to dinner at different restaurants in Charlotte – dress is casual for both the reception and dinner. The following evening there is a dinner that is a little more formal. Business casual dress is appropriate for this dinner.

Cancellation Policy – To accommodate others who are waiting to attend, a two week cancellation notice is requested. If something comes up that precludes your attending just let us know and we will put you on the list for the next seminar.

Agenda – Approximately two weeks before the seminar you will receive a copy of the agenda. A breakfast buffet will be provided at 7:30 each morning in the meeting room. The instruction begins each day at 8:00 am. On the last day the session will conclude at 3:00 pm to enable everyone to arrive home at a decent hour.

Who Should Attend
The instruction is directed primarily for purchasing personnel, packaging engineers, marketing executives, brand and product managers, graphic artists, and quality assurance personnel. J. R. Cole Industries specializes in packaging for the Personal Care, Health Care, Beverage, Consumer Electronics and Household Product markets. We welcome anyone from your organization that might benefit from this exposure.
